The Fond du Lac School Board has adopted a 2016 budget. The budget includes a tax rate that has been reduced to $9.88 cents per thousand dollars of property v alue. Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says increased property values helped reduce the tax rate. Forty one students are leaving the district under the state’s private school voucher program costing the district a preliminary estimate of $379,000. Sebert says the budget includes a number of staff reductions by not filling vacancies. “We reduced some media specialists, we have one less teacher at our alternative high school,” Sebert said. Other staff reductions include a teaching position at the STEM Academy and five instructional assistants.
