The director of the government watchdog group Common Cause in Wisconsin says he’s still hopeful a proposal to dissolve the Government Accountability Board may not pass. A bill to replace six retired judges on the board with partisan appointments has been approved by the Assembly. But Common Cause director Jay Heck says there is Republican opposition in the Senate including state senator Luther Olsen of Ripon. “This is the selfish politician week. None of these issues have anything to do with concerns of the people of Wisconsin,” Heck told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program. Heck says all of the measures are about political power, not what’s in the best interest of Wisconsin residents.
