A grass fire in the ditch near the Highway 151 on-ramp to southbound Interstate 41 forced traffic to slow down. Fond du Lac fire chief Pete O’Leary says gusty winds helped fan the fire, creating a lot of smoke when he arrived on the scene. “It was blowing pretty hard and the winds have been picking up here. It (fire) got right up to the road at one point so we had the ramp closed down,” O’Leary told WFDL news. The fire was brought under control around 3pm. O’Leary says the cause of the fire is unknown.
