MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Senate’s judiciary committee has signed off on a bill that would require police who find an opiate prescription at an overdose scene to enter it into a statewide database. The committee approved the proposal on a 5-0 vote Wednesday. The bill is part of a package of legislation from Representative John Nygren designed to combat prescription drug abuse leading to heroin habits.
