A Wisconsin environmental group says a new Clean Power Plan is long overdue…critics say it will drive up utility costs for Wisconsin residents.  The final power plant carbon pollution limits require Wisconsin to reduce emissions by 41 percent below 2005 levels by 2030.  Clean Wisconsin senior policy director Keith Reopelle says it makes sense for Wisconsin to write its own plan to meet the new greenhouse gas rules.  “The plan that EPA has developed for states that don’t care to write their own plan is obviously more of a one size fits all,”  Reopelle told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.  “There’s no question that if the state does not write its own plan there will be fewer options and it will be more expensive for ratepayers.”   Reopelle says he’s not surprised Wisconsin has joined a federal lawsuit challenging the plan…but doesn’t think the suit will be successful.
