The school district of North Fond du Lac has a new FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) Chapter. FBLA is a nonprofit national organization that is offered to high school students as they prepare for
careers in business and businessrelated fields. Students get involved with FBLA because it is beneficial for their future, both in further education and in the workforce. Through leadership opportunities, competitions, conferences, and social activities, FBLA will not only make students high school years
memorable, but it will also prepare them for the world of work in the most innovative ways. As members, students participate in community service, leadership opportunities, and have the ability to compete in competitive events related to business, marketing and information technology. Some example competitive events include accounting, web design, mobile application development, computer applications, management decision making, impromptu speaking, business math, marketing, and many more. NFDL FBLA members will be competing at the regional level on February 6 at Random Lake High School. Those that place well at the regional level will advance to the state competitions in La Crosse in early April.
The Horace Mann High School FBLA chapter has already attended the Fall Leadership Lab in Appleton. It was at this event chapters from all over Northeast Wisconsin learned valuable leadership skills, tips to succeed in FBLA and business, as well as the ability to network with other chapters. Interested students can get involved with FBLA at Horace Mann just by by speaking with either Mr. Wismer or Mr. Forsythe, the business, marketing and IT teachers at the district.
