11-27-15 fdl man in need of heart transplant says he has much to be thankful for

Fond du Lac resident Rick Gilgenbach needs a heart transplant, but says during this Thanksgiving holiday he has so much to be thankful for.    In 1996 Gilgenbach was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a disease that weakens the heart muscle making it less able to pump blood through the body.  Gilgenbach has been on medication to control the problem, but recently the symptoms began to worsen and Rick was told he needed a heart transplant.    […]

A 35 cent drop in the price of a gallon of unleaded regular gas in Wisconsin in the last month is the third largest drop in the country.  State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmuscz says after several months of being higher than the national average, prices in Wisconsin started this week five cents below the national average. The Salvation Army Kettles, each a cheerful Christmas red, will stand tall throughout Fond du Lac until December 24.   Seventeen kettles with volunteer bell-ringers and 87 counter top “minis” welcome passersby, at several Fond du Lac locations.  This year’s Red Kettle Christmas Appeal seeks $150,000 through kettle contributions.
