12-7-15 revolving door bill

A Democratic state representative has introduced a bill that would restrict when an individual could be employed as a lobbyist after leaving the state legislature.  State representative Dana Wachs from Eau Claire says the measure would prohibit any state lawmaker from becoming a lobbyist for 12 months after leaving office.  Wachs says the bill will ensure that legislators serve their constituents without a goal of cashing in for a high-paying special interest job later.  Wachs says his so-called Revolving Door bill is getting  bipartisan support.  Of  the 29 total co-sponsors, 11 are Republicans including Senate co-author Duey Stroebel from Saukville.
