Individuals who volunteer at Waupun Memorial Hospital’s information desk make a big difference in the lives of patients, visitors and associates just by giving a few hours of their time a week. Waupun Memorial Hospital is currently seeking volunteers to help provide coverage at the information desk, welcome individuals to the hospital, provide directions to visitors and patients, and assist with other needs that arise. “We’re looking for individuals that are friendly and outgoing, and can work independently,” according to Karen Gross, Volunteer Services coordinator. “Our volunteers at the information desk play many roles and are very interactive. We are fortunate to have friendly and positive people for these positions, but can always use more help.” Gross says the information desk provides interested individuals the opportunity to meet new friends and support a great hospital. Openings are available from 9 a.m. to noon on the following days each month: first Tuesday and fourth Friday. Afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. are open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Volunteer Services is also seeking substitute volunteers for the Waupun Dialysis Center. In addition to helping the patients, dialysis center volunteers assist staff with weighing of the patients. Opportunities are also available in the Emergency Department.
