After two failed restaurant attempts, a former Fond du Lac church building is going back to being a church. Essential Rock Church has signed a five year lease with The Commonwealth Companies to convert the former Trinity Lutheran Church building back into a church. “That’s incredible, God has really been good to us, he opened up a great, wonderful opportunity for us to move into the old Trinity building,’ Pastor John Slotten told WFDL news. Pastor Slotten says Essential Rock Church has been in Fond du lac only two years…initially meeting at the YMCA and more recently on Main Street. “God moved and we came and now two years later we’re moving out of our humble start of being in a store front to being a mission focused church.” Slotten says Essential Rock expects to grow in numbers, making the extra space necessary. The move is starting this week. The church will hold two Sunday worship services at 10:30am and 7pm. Pastor Slotten will be a guest Thursday morning on AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.
