Unemployment rates rose across most of Wisconsin’s largest cities in November including Fond du lac. Preliminary data the state Department of Workforce Development released Wednesday shows unemployment rates in 29 of the state’s 32 biggest cities increased from October. The city of Fond du Lac’s jobless rate inched up two tenths of a percent to 3.5 percent. The lowest unemployment rate was 2.9 percent in Fitchburg, Madison and Sun Prairie. The highest was 6.1 percent in Racine. Unemployment rates rose in every Wisconsin county from October to November. Menominee County had the highest rate at 7.8 percent. Fond du Lac County’s rate increased from 3.1 to 3.4 percent. The Dodge County unemployment rate stands at 3.8 percent in November up from 3.5 percent. The local unemployment rates aren’t seasonally adjusted and therefore aren’t comparable to the state unemployment rate. That rang in at 4.2 percent in November.
