A Fond du lac business is stepping up to the plate offering a matching donation in an effort to help the Fond du Lac Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign reach its goal. This year’s $150,000 Red Kettle goal has been threatened by unseasonably warm weather. West Shore Group owner, Bill Mongin, is challenging community businesses, organizations and shoppers to donate to the Red Kettles on Christmas Eve, the last day the Kettle Campaign, to put the fundraiser over the top. Salvation Army Captain Steven Wilson says that donations to the Fond du Lac Salvation Army Red Kettles help meet local needs that come in increasingly larger amounts. Donate directly into the kettles on Christmas Eve between 8 am and 2 pm or before via mail or in person at The Salvation Army, 237 N. Macy St. Earmark check “Christmas Eve Kettle Match.” Donations are tax deductible.
