2-16-16 cruz-wisconsin leadership team

COLUMBIA, South Carolina (AP) — Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has formed his leadership team in Wisconsin and it includes some of the state’s most conservative Republican lawmakers.  Wisconsin state Sen. Duey Stroebel announced Monday that he will be serving as Cruz’s campaign chairman in Wisconsin. The state’s presidential primary is seven weeks away on April 5.    “I think all conservatives  need to coalesce around one candidate,”  Stroebel told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.  “I think when you really look closely  at them (candidates) there’s one that stands heads and shoulders above the rest and that is senator Cruz.”   Cruz said in a statement that the Wisconsin lawmakers will help him bring together “strong conservatives” to help him win the state. Cruz was campaigning this week in South Carolina ahead of its Feb. 20 primary.  Other Wisconsin lawmakers endorsing Cruz are Reps. Andre Jacque, Jesse Kremer, Dean Knudson, Adam Neylon, Bob Gannon and David Craig.  Cruz’s rival Marco Rubio has already locked up endorsements from other Republican leaders, including Assembly Speaker Robin Vos.
