2-18-16 school crime reporting

The North Fond du Lac School superintendent says he believes a bill that would require schools to report crimes on their property is a way to try to embarrass public schools.  The state Assembly approved the measure this week.  Under the bill public, voucher and charter high schools would have to report crime data on state report cards that track test scores and graduation rates.  North Fond du Lac superintendent Aaron Sadoff says that information is already available through police reports and through the Department of Public Instruction.  Sadoff says it’s another reporting mandate for schools that are already stretched thin.
