2-26-16 friday is deadline for downtown vision team applications

The City of Fond du Lac is still accepting applications for the newly formed Downtown Fond du Lac Exploratory Committee. Applications are available on the City of Fond du Lac’s website at https://www.fdl.wi.gov/   The City Clerk will be collecting applications until February 26th. 2-25-16 fdl police involved in investigation into fdl fire

Fond du Lac police detectives are questioning neighbors and asking for any information from the public regarding a fire that destroyed the Wayside Tavern.    Assistant police chief Steve Klein says the police arson investigator is working with fire investigators to try to determine a cause.  "Anytime you have a fire and you have an unknown cause of that fire we work very closely with the fire department,"  Klein told WFDL news.  Nobody was injured […]

2-25-16 fdl high school student expelled for pulling fire alarm as a prank

A Fond du Lac High school student who pulled a fire alarm last month as a prank sending students and teachers outside during the coldest day this winter has been expelled for the rest of the school year.   Temperatures were in the low single digits with windchills of 25 below when the 17-year-old student pulled the fire alarm January 18th.  School officials say the students were outside for only about five minutes.

2-25-16 fdl construction projects

The Fond du Lac Community Development Director says several major construction projects are nearing completion.  Dyann Benson says an assisted living facility at the former Rolling Meadows Nursing home building is expected to open this spring. Benson says interior finishes are underway in the Grande Cheese corporate offices on Camelot Drive near the 151 bypass.  She says the St. Mary’s Springs campus expansion is already in the drywall phase.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Professional Police Association has endorsed Court of Appeals Judge JoAnne Kloppenburg in Wisconsin's Supreme Court race. Executive Director Jim Palmer said in a statement that Kloppenburg has a deep understanding of the law and a demonstrated ability to be impartial.
