Former U.S. Senator Russ Feingold brought his campaign message to Fond du lac over the weekend.  Feingold spoke Sunday at the Fond du lac County Democratic Party annual Chili Cook-Off fundraiser at the Fond du lac Labor Temple.   Feingold says in Fond du lac and across the state residents are telling him the economic recovery has not reached people in the middle class.  “People are working two or three jobs, they are not getting the income they need because wages haven’t kept up to pay the bills,”  Feingold said.  Feingold says that’s why he supports raising the minimum wage. Feingold criticizes Republican senators who say they will not vote on confirming President Obama’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.  With president Obama visiting Cuba, Feingold says he thinks the United States is very close to normalizing relations with Cuba.  “The business community of this state has long wanted these relationships with Cuba.  Its an outdated policy.”   On the potential presidential showdown between Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton…”anyone who says they have seen anything like it, they are not telling the truth.  Its completely unprecedented,”  Feingold said.  “We’re going to have a Democratic president, because the Democrat will look more serious about governing the country.”
