Fond du Lac Fire chief Pete O’Leary says he couldn’t believe it when he heard about the terrorist attacks at the Brussels airport this week. O’Leary and his son visited Brussels just last summer. O’Leary says he felt safe when he was at the airport and in Brussels. O’Leary says he enjoyed his time in Brussels and is saddened for the families of the victims and the people of the region. “It is a beautiful city and the people are very kind, a lot of tourists that were there, a lot of shopping going on, it was a warm place to be,” O’Leary told WFDL news. “I was looking forward to going back, but I got to tell you that until they figure out how to keep their city and country safer I don’t think I’ll be going anytime soon.”
