Recently the Fond du Lac City Council provided City Manager, Joe Moore, five areas of emphasis for 2016. These items of emphasis, or goals, are focused on building a bright future for Fond du Lac. The Council directed the City Manager to enable improved working relationships among the City’s major non-governmental organizations, assisting organizations like the CVB, DFP, AC and FCEDC, which already do so much good for the City, to find more opportunities to collaborate. In addition, he will ensure city staff supports the work of the Downtown Exploratory Committee so as to create a long term strategy for the Business Improvement District and to facilitate a viable solution for the Retlaw Hotel. The other two goals are: completing the transfer of Highway 45 within the City limits from the State to the City and concluding an intergovernmental agreement with the adjacent towns. The City Manager will provide feedback throughout the year at regular Council meetings as part of regular Council business.
