Assistant Fire Chief Steven Beer has earned Executive Fire Officer status after completing a four year program at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland.  The EFO program requires each student to attend four on-campus classes which are each two weeks in length. 4-30-16 fdl county tops state in tourism spending

New figures from the state Department of Tourism show Fond du Lac County tops the state in tourism growth.  According to the figures Fond du Lac County saw a 10 percent increase in tourism spending from $120 million in 2014 to $132 million last year and a nearly eight percent increase in total business sales.  Fond du Lac Area Convention and Visitors Bureau director Craig Molitor says that’s the biggest increase of any county in […]

4-30-16 fdl high school, rosenow elementary placed in lockdown friday afternoon

Fond du Lac High School and an elementary school were placed in lockdown as a precautionary measure Friday afternoon after some alleged threats were made.   Assisstant police chief Steve Thiry says a woman who has children at both  Rosenow Elementary school and  Fond du lac High school told police her ex husband had directed some threats toward her.  Both schools were placed on what’s called a  “Yellow Alert” until police resolved the situation.  Thiry says the man […]
