MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates and outside groups spent at least $4.3 million ahead of Tuesday’s election. That’s according to figures Justice at Stake and the Brennan Center for Justice released Wednesday. The nonpartisan groups analyzed campaign finance reports and television advertising in the race between Rebecca Bradley, JoAnne Kloppenburg and primary opponent Joe Donald. They found conservative group Wisconsin Alliance for Reform spent about $1.9 million on television ads supporting Bradley. The Greater Wisconsin Group spent about $381,360 on television ads supporting Kloppenburg. The three candidates raised a combined $1.9 million. Government watchdog group Wisconsin Democracy Campaign reported Wednesday that outside groups supporting Bradley outspent groups backing Kloppenburg almost four-to-one. Bradley and Kloppenburg defeated Donald in a February primary. Bradley went on to beat Kloppenburg in Tuesday’s general election.
