The victim of a two vehicle fatal crash east of Fond du Lac was a high school guidance counselor. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of the crash as 35 year old Matt Heinen. Heinen was a guidance counselor at Fond du Lac High School and was driving to work when his car veered into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck an SUV. Sheriff’s Lieutenant Jim Borgen says the crash happened on Highway 23 near Whispering Springs Boulevard shortly before 7:30am Thursday. Borgen says slippery roads and poor visibility apparently were factors. Borgen says the slippery road conditions appeared to have caught a number of motorists off guard. The driver of the SUV, a 37 year old Mt. Calvary man, was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
