Fond du Lac police say a suspect in the Hometown Bank robbery in Fond du Lac last year is in custody in another county. The March 24th, 2015 robbery occurred minutes before an unrelated shootout that claimed the life of a state patrol trooper in Fond du lac. Assistant police chief Steve Klein told WFDL news the suspect is from the Stevens Point area and is in custody in another jurisdiction. The suspect has not been arrested or charged yet in connection with the Fond du Lac bank robbery. Shortly after the Hometown Bank robbery, a suspect in another bank robbery in northern Wisconsin was confronted by state patrol trooper Trevor Casper in the Pick N Save parking lot off Berger Parkway. Casper and the suspect were both killed in a shootout.
