4-18-16 eab spreading in fdl

Fond du lac city officials say the Emerald Ash Borer appears to be spreading.  The EAB  was first confirmed in the city last spring and early infestations are now being detected throughout the City.    Parks director John Redmond says the City will again offer the Adopt an Ash Program this year. This program allows residents to adopt an Ash Tree and have it injected with an insecticide that will protect the tree for  two-plus years.   Redmond says if the Ash tree is not treated, it will become infested with EAB and die.  The Contractor will charge residents the City Contracted price of $7.00 per diameter inch.  As an example: A 15” diameter Ash tree would cost $105 for one treatment that will last two years.  You may contact the City Arborist at 322- 3594 to see if your Ash tree is a candidate for  the program.
