The chancellor of the UW System Colleges and Extension says a reorganization plan to deal with massive state budget cuts has been a huge adjustment. Chancellor Cathy Sandeen made the comments during a stop at UW Fond du lac Monday. “The UW System received a $250 million base, permanent budget cut from the state of Wisconsin and that affects every single institution within the system,” Sandeen said. ” …for us that mean a $5 million reduction in our budget.” As part of the reorganization plan the UW Colleges were grouped into regions. Sandeen says before the cuts the two year colleges were already lean and efficient. Sandeen made the comments on AM 1170’s Between the Lines program.
