Firefighters from Wisconsin and across the country are rallying behind a 12 year old Brandon boy who suffers from Obsessive, Compulsive Disorder. Chrissy Ewerdt recently posted on Facebook about the challenges her son Cole faces and the social isolation OCD causes. Ewerdt says the situation had risen to a level where hospitalization and inpatient care was needed. Ewerdt’s childhood friend, Tammy Lamberg saw the post and decided to do something about it. Lamberg is a captain in the West Bend Fire Department and she issued a challenge to other fire departments to help. Ewerdt says the response on Facebook has been overwhelming. “It just took a life of its own and it just got bigger and bigger,” Ewerdt told WFDL news. “Next thing you know fire stations from as far away as New York were asking for address so they could send t-shirts. It was like a gift from God to know that these people that don’t even know me or my son are ready and willing to fight for us.”
