Schools throughout Fond du Lac and Dodge counties cancelled classes or closed early today with a dangerous ice storm in the forecast. National Weather Service meteorologist Ben Herzog says the forcast calls for a mixture of sleet and freezing rain. By 3pm Monday the temperature was still above freezing and there were no reports of weather related accidents. Fond du lac County Highway commissioner Tom Janke says crews will be out continuously salting and sanding if needed. Janke says if you do come upon highway crews make sure to slow down and stay a safe distance from the salt trucks.
