The American Red Cross-Wisconsin Chapter says blood donations are needed to address a severe blood shortage. Red Cross spokesperson Laura McGuire says severe winter weather in Wisconsin and across the country has had a big impact on donations. “We are asking donors to come in and donate blood products. Unfortunately several bouts of winter weather really hit not only here in Wisconsin but other parts of Wisconsin resulting in about 10,500 donations going uncollected,” McGuire told WFDL news. Blood drives are being held over the next couple of months at different sites throughout Fond du Lac and Dodge counties.
