Acacia Woodley is a tiny girl with a big dream. The 15 year old Florida girl was born without complete arms and was bullied in school. Fond du Lac Silica for Your Home owner Tom Schneider heard Woodley speak at a recent buying show and was impressed with the teen’s message that each child matters and have a great purpose in life. Schneider says Woodley developed the Friendship Bench that allows children to go to a place when they feel left out or are in need of a friend. “The Friendship Bench is an adirondack bench. She wants to get them on playgrounds all over the country,” Schneider told WFDL news. “Its designed that if you’re having a bad day that you can sit on the bench and everyone knows that you need a friend.” Schneider was so moved by Woodley’s message that he purchased four friendship benches for Fond du lac schools and is flying Woodley to Fond du lac next week to speak to students about kindness and compassion.
