1-30-17 vacant house fire-van dyne

Nobody was injured in a fire at a vacant Van Dyne home Monday afternoon.  Shortly before 1pm firefighters were called to the scene at W6855 Park St. in Van Dyne.  Fire departments from Van Dyne, North Fond du Lac, Brandon and Ripon, along with deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. 1-30-17 fdl man charged with tax crimes

A Fond du Lac man has been charged with two felonies in connection with filing false income tax returns.  Adam L. Portman is charged with one count of theft and one count of filing a false income tax return with the intent to evade or obtain a tax credit. Both charges are felonies.  If convicted, Portman faces more than nine years in prison and a $20,000 fine.  The criminal complaint […]

MADISON, Wis. 1-30-17 court orders legislature to redraw maps

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A panel of federal judges has ordered the Wisconsin Legislature to redraw legislative boundaries by November, rejecting calls from those challenging the maps to have the judges do the work.  The three-judge panel released its decision in the redistricting case Friday. The Fond du Lac Department of Public Works says a portion of East Scott Street will be closed starting Monday.  East Scott between Main Street and Park Avenue will close starting Monday and remain closed until Friday evening.  The closure will allow a contractor to remove a sanitary manhole and repair the street after construction.  The street will remain open to local traffic only.  Also West Division Street between Macy […]
