3-3-17 area law enforcement crack down on heroin and methamphetamine

Several people have been arrested in separate drug busts in Fond du Lac, Winnebago and Dodge counties.  Fond du Lac County District attorney Eric Toney says 11 people face charges for allegedly delivering heroin in Fond du Lac and Winnebago counties.  Toney says investigators believe more than 15 pounds of heroin, with a street value of more than a million dollars were distributed over the last two years.  Toney says the investigation started months ago after a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy found  heroin in a car following a routine traffic stop.   In addition to heroin and crack cocaine police also seized firearms and thousands of dollars in cash.  Meanwhile, in a separate case Waupun police chief Dale Heeringa says three women and two men have been arrested and face charges including manufacture and delivery of heroin and methamphetamine.   Heeringa says the arrests were the culmination of a several months long investigation.
