The transition director says he expects the boards of the Fond du lac Association of Commerce and Fond du lac County Economic Development Corporation to approve a proposal to combine the organizations. David Omachinski says he thinks a CEO can be hired and the new organization finalized before the end of summer. Omachinski says the biggest advantage in combining the organizations is one vision, one voice, one team. “So that when the existing business community is looking to expand there’s one vision, one voice, one team that they can go to for help, guidance,” Omachinski told WFDL news. Omachinski says combining the organizations also will eliminate duplication of services. He says a driving force behind the change was the concern in the business community of donating to separate organizations for, in many cases, the same services. The FCEDC will continue to operate the county’s Revolving Loan Fund.
