The Fond du Lac Public Works director says only a handful of Fond du Lac residents have signed up to participate in a lead pipe replacement program this year. The city put the brakes on a mandatory program after the low-bid contractor for the project was unable to secure a bond. Public Works director Jordan Skiff says some of the property owners that were on the list to have their pipes replaced are going forward to take advantage of a clean water loan program. The city had initially hoped to replace lead pipes at nearly 150 Fond du Lac homes this year.
