The Fond du Lac Fire Chief was decked out in SWAT gear today after losing a bet with the police chief. Fire Chief Pete O’Leary and Police Chief Bill Lamb were betting who could raise the most money on St. Baldrick’s Day by shaving their heads for childhood cancer. Chief O’Leary lost and had to dress up in SWAT gear. “It was kind of fun, actually. Its never happened for me,” Chief O’Leary told WFDL news. “They wouldn’t let me have a loaded weapon, which I was a little disappointed in, but its a great cause. ” O’Leary says he thinks the police chief secretly wanted to lose so he could dress up like a firefighter. “We’ll do it again next year, hopefully we’ll rebound and chief Lamb will get his childhood wish, which is of course, to dress up like a firefighter.” Both departments raised about $5000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to help kids with cancer.
