Friends of McDermott Park say they will remain active now that a master plan for the park has been approved by the Fond du Lac city council. Friends member Janelle Anderson says the Public Works director has told the group one of the first things that will be done this spring is erecting signage on the south side of the park along Merrill Avenue. Anderson says the group hopes the city will be able to fund a paved trail that connects the north and south ends of the park. Anderson says the group hopes to begin a fundraising effort to help support other projects that are outlined in the master plan. “We’re committed to staying active and to help raising funds,” Anderson told WFDL news.
