5-29-17 four killed, five injured in minivan vs. pickup truck collision in northwest wisconsin

CORNELL, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say four people were killed and five others were injured in a two-vehicle crash near Cornell in northwestern Wisconsin.  Chippewa County Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk says it's the worst accident he's seen in 40 years of law enforcement.  He says it happened around 5 p.m. Saturday when a minivan either failed to yield or ran a stop sign and collided with a pickup truck.  One male […]

Police are looking for the driver of a car involved in a 12 and a half mile high speed chase on Interstate 41 in Fond du Lac County.  Shortly before 2am Saturday a deputy from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle on 41 near Lost Arrow Road for a traffic violation.  The suspect vehicle immediately increased to speeds above 100mph and was driving recklessly.  […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Republican lawmaker is refining his bill that would punish students who disrupt speakers after critics said it was too vague.  Rep. Jesse Kremer amended his bill Friday to limit punishable behavior to violence or other disorderly conduct that disrupts free speech. A $100,000 donation from the Fond du Lac Area Foundation is giving Agnesian HealthCare’s Hospice Home of Hope a significant boost.  The donation comes as the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation works to raise the remaining $625,000 in funds needed to cover an expansion project.  Agnesian officials say the addition of eight rooms is expected to address a waiting list as the need for hospice service continues to grow. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A new report shows Wisconsin added the fewest jobs in 2016 of Gov. Scott Walker's six years in office.  The data released Friday from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows the state added 15,462 jobs in from the period from December 2015 to December 2016. The state added 29,429 jobs in 2015; 37,877 in 2014; 28,095 in 2013; 33,353 in 2012 and 21,662 in 2011. […]

5-27-16 threat at fdl high school deemed not credible

Fond du lac police have determined a threat at Fond du Lac High School Friday was not credible.  High School administration became aware of written threat in the building referencing Monday.   Law enforcement and school administration investigated and did not deem the incident as a credible threat.
