6-15-17 two more roundabouts planned for fdl

Two more roundabouts are planned for Fond du Lac as part of reconstruction projects on Fond du Lac County Highway V and Pioneer Road.   Fond du Lac Public Works director Jordan Skiff says a project planned for 2020 will involve constructing a roundabout near V and state Highway 45 and Rienzi Road near the KC Hall.  “We’ve been in discussions with the county and we’ve bounced it off the city council in closed session.  What we’re learning toward is having a roundabout there,”  Skiff told WFDL news.  Skiff says construction of a roundabout would result in removal of  the stop sign at V and 45.    He says a roundabout would help make that area safer and allow traffic to flow more smoothly.    Skiff says a project planned for 2019 would include a roundabout at Highway V and Pioneer Road.  Skiff says the county would pick up most of the estimated six million dollar cost.
