The Fond du Lac Firefighters Local 400 Charitable Fund has again stepped forward to help support the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation’s efforts to raise $2.5 million to add more private patient rooms at the Agnesian HealthCare Hospice Home of Hope residential facility. Peter O’Leary, City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue chief, and other Local 400 representatives, presented a $1,000 donation to Holly Brenner, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation President. “We see the great work and comfort the Hospice Home of Hope provides to people in this community,” according to Todd Shippee, IAFF Local 400 president. “We are proud to collaborate once again with the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation, and help to cultivate this partnership as we both work to bring necessary benefits our communities.” The Hospice Home of Hope expansion is set to be completed in July of 2017. This important expansion will add eight new private, homelike rooms. “We’re so grateful to the Fond du Lac Firefighters Local 400 Charitable Fund for their continued support of this expansion,” according to Holly Brenner, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation president. “There is such beneficial work that happens within our hospice program – every day, there are caring providers helping patients and families during this sacred time in their journey.” Brenner says with these additional rooms, waiting lists will be effectively addressed. However, funds are still being raised to support the 2.5 million dollar expansion. “Thanks to supporters like the Fond du Lac Firefighters Local 400 Charitable Fund (IAFF), through donations and pledges we have raised $1,875,000,” says Brenner. “However, we still need community support for this important addition. We are currently $625,000 short of meeting our goal.” Support can be made by calling the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation office at (920) 926-4959 or online at agnesian.com/giving.
