The Fond du Lac County Natural Beauty Council has been saved. The Fond du Lac County Board has approved the appointment of four new members to the council. The appointments come a month after WFDL news first reported the future of the council was in jeopardy because there were not enough citizen volunteers to allow it to function. County executive Al Buechel says the committee is comprised of five members and meets a handful of times a year. He says he’s pleased the group will be continue to meet. “We had some people volunteer. I appreciate any help you (WFDL news) gave us,” Buechel said. Buechel says the council was formed in the early 1980s in response to national legislation to beautify America. The new-look council’s first meeting is this Thursday.
