6-26-17 small fire behind st. paul’s cathedral in fdl

Passing motorists may have been wondering why several fire trucks were at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Fond du Lac Sunday afternoon.  Firefighters were called to the scene at 84 West Division Street for a report of a small shed behind the building on fire.  The small fire was quickly extinguished.

6-26-17 5th worker has died from cambria mill explosion

CAMBRIA, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin company says a fifth worker has died after an explosion last month at its corn milling plant.  Didion Milling officials say Carlos "Charly" Nunez died Friday at a hospital from injuries he suffered in the May 31 explosion at the plant in Cambria. The Mayville mayor says he has full confidence in the Mayville police department even though the case involving the former police chief casts a shadow over the department.  Former chief Christopher MacNeill is scheduled to make his initial Dodge County Circuit Court appearance Monday on charges of misconduct in office and obstructing.   MacNeill is accused of falsifying arrest records to help the son of a fellow officer and friend. MADISON, Wis. 6-26-17 fdl attorney publically reprimanded

The Wisconsin Supreme Court has publically reprimanded a Fond du lac attorney for not reimbursing clients for unearned fees.  In addition to the reprimand the court ordered Philip Shepherd pay restitution and court costs totaling nearly $2000.  The court says Shepherd committed ten counts of misconduct.   According to a complaint filed with the Office of Lawyer Regulation Shepherd failed to refund fees for unearned legal work in a guardianship case […]

6-26-17 oil slick on fdl river cleaned up

Boating traffic on the Fond du Lac River has resumed after an oil slick was discovered last week.  Fond du lac Fire and Rescue says the hazmat situation has been cleared and boating activities on the river are back to normal.  A boom was placed on the river near the Scott Street bridge to collect the oil.  Investigators were not able to find a source, but say it appears the […]

MADISON, Wis.
