Work is expected to begin soon to repair an historic Fond du Lac church tower after deteriorating stone fell from the tower recently. Director of Advancement with the Fond du Lac Holy Family Community, Gail Kraig, told WFDL news work to repair the St. Mary Catholic Church tower will begin as soon as a contractor is selected. The church at the corner of Merrill and Marquette Streets is barricaded with chain link fencing and orange tape and the words “Danger do not enter.” The front door and ramp entrance will remain open but the southwest entrance is closed until the repairs are made.
