A wrong way driver on Highway 151 in Fond du Lac County was killed when her car collided head on with another vehicle. The crash happened shortly after 12:30am Saturday on 151 and Hazel Lane. in the town of Oakfield, Prior to the crash the Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls that a vehicle was operating northbound in the southbound lanes of traffic on 151. A preliminary investigation showed that a 27-year-old St. Cloud area woman was northbound in the southbound lanes of travel at a high rate of speed when she struck a southbound vehicle driven by an 18-year-old rural Waupun woman. The St,. Cloud woman flown by helicopter to Theda Care Medical Center in Neenah where she was pronounced dead. The 18 year old was treated for minor injuries at St. Agnes Hopsital and released. Speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors into the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office.
