A Republican state representative says a DOT reform bill would result In a significant savings to taxpayers. State representative Joe Sanfelippo says the bill being circulated for co-sponsors would fundamentally alter the way the Wisconsin Department of Transportation delivers, finances and administers state highway projects. Sanfelippo says an audit released earlier this year confirmed the DOT suffers from years of mismanagement. Sanfelippo says the bill would restore taxpayer confidence in the agency that has strayed from sound fiscal and good government principles. He says one of the components of the plan is the creation of an inspector general Position within DOT. Sanfelippo was a guest on AM 1170s Between the Lines program.
