The Fond du Lac city council is expected to vote next month on the proposed creation of a Tax Increment Financing district for the downtown Retlaw Hotel renovation project. Nobody spoke at a public hearing last week. Community Development director Dyann Benson says terms of the TIF minimize the risk for the city. Meanwhile Benson says renovation work is expected to start next month. Benson says a later than originally anticipated start for renovation work may push back the reopening of the hotel until next June or July.
