The Blood Center of Wisconsin is stepping up to help Houston in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.  BloodCenter spokeswoman Fay Spano says all blood collections in Houston have been cancelled and donor centers are closed.  Spano says the BloodCenter of Wisconsin is shipping blood products this week.  “It really is a dire situation there,”  Spano told WFDL news.  “On behalf of BloodCenter of Wisconsin our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with all of those people in southeast Texas.”   The Blood Center of Wisconsin has ten donation centers in Wisconsin including one in West Bend and another in Manitowac.
