MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Foxconn Technology Group says it looks forward to making Wisconsin a “center of worldwide high-tech manufacturing.” The Taiwan-based company praised the passage Thursday of a $3 billion incentive package for the electronics giant. Foxconn plans to build a massive display-screen factory in southeast Wisconsin. It would be the first of its kind outside of Asia. Foxconn says in an unsigned statement that it is thankful for the “vote of confidence” and says the $3 billion will “help us move forward with our plans to build the state-of-the-art advanced display manufacturing campus.” Foxconn says it also plans to “make use of the extensive supply chain in the state.” Republican Gov. Scott Walker is expected to sign the bill as soon as next week.
