CUDAHY, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says he appreciates the service of outgoing Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke, but declined to opine on the job performance of the polarizing lawman. Walker said Friday he'll leave it "to law enforcement experts" to judge Clarke's time in office. Clarke submitted his resignation Thursday without giving a reason why he was leaving the office he's held since 2002.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A full federal appeals court will not hear a challenge to Wisconsin's right-to-work law. The law prohibits businesses and unions from reaching deals that require all workers to pay union dues. Unions maintain the law enables nonunion members to receive free representation. Two chapters of the International Union of Operating Engineers filed a lawsuit in 2016 alleging that amounts to an unconstitutional taking.

Fond du Lac School District conducted a food drive on August 29 when all staff was welcomed back from the summer break with Opening Day presentations at the Performing Arts Center. Staff members were asked to bring canned goods or non-perishables for the purpose of donating the items to the Fondy Food Pantry.
