The Fond du Lac city council is considering hiring a consultant to develop a design master plan for the city’s downtown. City manager Joe Moore says the plan would address what to do with vacant properties and public spaces. “The little parks or the public spaces, Hamilton Park, places like that. How can we best utilize those for the future,” Moore said. Moore told the city council this week that the future of the downtown is bright. Moore says one of the first steps in the process would be reviewing recommendations made by the downtown exploratory committee. The council is expected to take a formal vote at their next meeting.
