While some islands continue to recover from Hurricanes Irma and Maria AAA wants travelers to know the majority of the Caribbean is still open for business. State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmuscz says eight islands including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are closed, but most are open and rely heavily on tourism to stimulate their economies. Jarmuscz says anyone planning a trip to a destination recently affected by a storm should be flexible and work with a travel agent.
