A program is being launched at the Fond du Lac YMCA for students interested in government and politics. Ben Giles is organizing the Youth in Government program for kids in grades 6-12. Giles says students discuss and debate issues and propose legislation, forming their own opinions and speaking their mind. Giles says its important to be involved now more than ever with the devisive political rhetoric at the state and national level. An informational meeting will be held at 6:30pm Wednesday at the Fond du Lac YMCA. The program will run from November 1 through March 1 culminating with a trip to the state capitol.
