11-1-17 former fdl thelma sadoff arts center director resigns position in eau claire

The former head of the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts in Fond du lac is now the former executive director of an arts center in Eau Claire.   Kevin Miller resigned abruptly last week as director of the Confluence Arts Center, a little more than three months after he started.  Arts Center officials didn’t give a reason, but the Eau-Claire newspaper reported that Miller didn’t earn degrees from UW-Eau Claire and UW-Milwaukee as he stated in his resume when he applied for the position.  Miller told the newspaper he was stunned to learn the degrees he  thought he earned at UW-Eau Claire and UW-Milwaukee were not as he had portrayed them.  He said he did not purposefully  misrepresent his qualifications.   During his time in Fond du Lac, Miller oversaw more than $12 million in arts-related fundraising, including an $8 million capital fundraising campaign to transform the Windover Center for the Arts into the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts and is also credited with helping form the Fond du Lac Arts and Entertainment District.
